I decided that there was no good reason not to marry my strongest skill set (painting) with my passion (social activism) and make a business of it. Now I blog about activism but I use my paintings to illustrate what I write about. "Painting journalism" is closest fitting title I can think of. I donate a portion of my art sales to corresponding to nonprofits. So, the balance is certainly possible. I love to see people who have crafted unique and effective ways to bring the two together!
