Incubation happens after hard work" That's an excellent way of putting it. It reminds me of James Wood Young's <a href="http://www.advancedhiring.com/docs/technique_for_getting_ideas.pdf" rel="nofollow">A Technique for Getting Ideas (pdf)</a>, where consciously not-working is a vital part of the idea generation process - but only if you've put the hard work in beforehand. “Procrastination happens before hard work. Incubation happens after hard work”
